I finished up a new digital illustration/collage - Slow Summer Fade. 8x10's on archival paper are available in the shop. This image combines mod/op art inspired geometric shapes and patterns with contemporary urban and painted textures. I wanted a more muted/faded look for this one with some gritty textures lightly scratched in.

Featured Treasuy on Etsy

I was surprised to see my curated treasury on the front page of Etsy the other day. These are some of my favorite artists on the site and I'm glad they received some extra exposure. The theme of the treasury was faces/portraits and it was difficult to cut things down from over 30 great choices in my favorites to just 16. Congrats to all the artists who nabbed a spot. For whatever reason, a few of my picks were edited out before they made it on the front page but were mysteriously still present via the treasury list. It may have just been a random arrangement thing.

Long Time, no post

I've been busy working on prints for my shop at etsy. I've sold two paintings there in the last month and I'm surprised at the amount of traffic I get there. It is comparable to the traffic I get from Ebay auctions. The cost is much less and listings last for four months. I was also featured on the front page a few days ago with my Fragmentary Soul Dance print. This is the second time one of my pieces has been on the front etsy page but the first time I thought to grab a screenshot.

I also now have some of my work on Boundlessgallery and I've been featured on Trunkt this week with my Feverbloom painting, Reminiscence print and Flaming Seapinys print. I'll be posting some pics of my new prints and digital work soon.

Today's painting is a large triptych which took about two weeks to complete. I kept coming back to it after many frustrating hours and looking at the whole piece with fresh eyes. I finally finished and feel like I've gotten over a large "hump".

Also, I've opened up a shop at etsy - http://davidvmoore.etsy.com/ - I've begun putting some of the unsold pieces in there and will be offering archival prints of older works soon. I'm looking at work from way back (10+ years) and thinking "hey, that might make a nice print". They certainly aren't doing me any good sitting in storage and it should be fun (and tragically nostalgic) to look through images I haven't even touched in years. We'll see what makes the cut.

Sales on Ebay have been good the last two weeks. Things have picked up since last month and I'm finding myself spending a lot of time packing, shipping, photographing, and coding html. A full website is still in the works. Currently www.dvmstudios.com and www.davidvmoore.com both point to my Ebay Store, but I'd like to have a fully functioning website up within a month or so. Integrating the blog completely into the website is also in the works. Now if I could only find more time to paint! I have a lot of new designs sketched out and will be working on those this week. I'm trying to keep up with "one a day" painting but it is a challenge and I often miss a few days. My goal for the rest of this month and throughout March is have as few gaps as possible. It seems to help my Ebay auctions to have new things up on a daily basis.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased one of my paintings and taken the time to write to me about my work. I really appreciate the interest and feedback I've received over the last few months. I've managed to sell over 75% of everything I've listed and I'm thrilled to be able to communicate directly with collectors and fellow artists. It has truly been a great experience that has injected some "new life" into my work.
