A mixed media piece this time out. Strips of cloth and wire mesh were embedded in acrylic and gloss gel medium. The surface was finished in a textured, heavily distressed style.

Acrylic on Canvas, 30" x 20" x 3/4"

A modern geometric abstract panel design with layers of thick rich texture. Tools used to achieve the look were various palette and painting knives. A glossy gel was mixed into the acrylic for the center square and layers of thin, transparent glazes were washed over the textured center design. I love the sense of space and thick textures in these geometric panel designs and I intend to do a series of them.
